With starry eyes she's warm-glancing, entrancing And now I'm through with all your sick, sad ranting And that is why you can’t rock my world Eel slipped out of the Bruja Hall, her pale cheeks tinged pink from exertion. She had just fought, and won, a duel. It was with a fellow Onyx member, a cocky young guy who thought that he could beat her because she was a girl, and a thin one at that. Of course, no human was a match for a witch, and he had lost miserably. To make it worse, she had practically danced around him, skimming the surface of his skin with her knife. Normally she reigned herself in, occasionally even throwing fights so she would stay under the radar. However, there were times when someone needed to be taught a lesson. Such as now.
The woman wandered by the bulletin board, glancing over it as she normally did. There didn’t seem to be anything interesting, and she wasn’t on assignment. She idly wondered what exactly she could do now. She decided to visit Ramsa, and go to New Mayhem. She hadn’t been in a while, and figured it would be a change of pace. Shrouding her aura, she clambered into her beat-up car. She peeled out, enjoying the feeling of the wind in her face.
About half an hour later, she arrived in Ramsa. She coasted into a parking lot, knowing it was impossible to drive into New Mayhem. She got out, slipping a knife into the special sheath at her ankle, and a matching one in the sheath on her wrist. She put on a jacket and pulled down her jeans to cover them up, and pulled boots over the knife. She made her way quietly down the path, ignoring the spookiness of it all.
She arrived at Las Noches, slipping inside. The pounding music and lights disorientated her for a moment, but she collected herself and perched at the edge of a barstool. With her aura shrouded and the knifes concealed, she looked like an innocent, clueless human. She twirled around on the barstool, propping her elbows on the counter. She was the only mercenary and one of the only witches to set foot in the bar at night. She glanced around the bar, registering the amount of vampires in the place. Unless she was attacked, she would continue pretending to be a normal human. TAG ! Open! WORD COUNT ! You tell me LYRICS ! That is Why by Say Anything OUTFIT ! Clicky! NOTES ! Nada

Annelise had been wandering aimlessly from city to city for a few hours and had grown quite weary of the aimlessness of it all. Willing herself back to New Mayhem, the Vampire took a deep breath, allowing the smells of the chaotic place to reach her heightened senses. The smell made her smile, revealing still-showing fangs. This place could be wonderful, even if she had hated it for quite some time; Annelise had to admit that, in this case, she had been wrong.
Her thoughts went momentarily to the falcon hidden somewhere in the trees and she wondered what her dear bird was up to, but let it be for the time being. Deciding on Las Noches as her dwelling for the evening, Annelise strode inside and grinned. The pulsing lights, the pounding music, it was all wonderful; Annelise could feel the darkness within her swell. And she heard a heartbeat. Nothing out of the ordinary, but the sound beating in her ears even with the loud music made Annelise feel comfortable, and she strode towards the bar.
Which happened to be where the heartbeat was coming from. And the girl was rather cute, she had to admit. Sitting down with just a seat in between her and the other girl, Annelise tossed her hair behind her and picked up a bottle of... well... something. It was clear, but smelled like a sort of poison. Taking a swig, she grinned-- she was correct, and she enjoyed the burning sensation and the odd taste as if it were a new kind of wine. Fantastic, really.
Turning just a bit so she could better look at the young woman, Annelise admired the girl's fair skin and hair and envied her for it. If I had only looked like that... she thought, before remembering the beauty she had held in life... though this woman was still beautiful as well, Annelise's pride was no longer damaged. "Only crazy people still possessing heartbeats come in here," Annelise said casually to the woman. It was a small joke, though Annelise always wondered what the people were searching for. Most were blood bonds or wanted to be a part of the night in some way, and she wanted to know what this one's story was, without invading her mind. Yet, at least.

With starry eyes she's warm-glancing, entrancing And now I'm through with all your sick, sad ranting And that is why you can’t rock my world Eel could feel her skin return to its normal, unnaturally cool pallor. She was glad, for a flushed complexion attracted vampires like moths to a light bulb…and was just as dangerous, in this case. She knew that if somebody were to touch her skin now, it would be strangely cold, as if she had just stepped out of a freezer. Her skin was always the same temperature despite the weather, another remnant of the vampiric taint of her blood. Even in the hot nightclub, she felt chilled.
The woman was thirsty, but she knew better than to drink anything behind the bar. She had seen humans foolishly take something that looked like water or wine, only to gag or worse, keel over dead. Instead, she reached into the bag she had with her, her fingers brushing against the small knife she had at the bottom. She might seem ridiculous to have so many weapons, but they had saved her many times. The one in her bag was the only one that was simple; the ones she had on her wrist and ankle were thin and decorated. They had a monstrous face on the hilt, with sapphires for eyes. The spikes around the edge finished off the look. She pulled a water bottle out of her bag, opened it, and delicately raised it to her mouth to take a sip. She kept it in her hand, knowing it wouldn’t be below the other humans in the bar to put something in her drink.
Eel didn’t know why she was here. After all, she didn’t have an assignment. But she hadn’t been out in a while, and she didn’t know if she’d be able to assimilate to a normal, human bar. Humans who had no idea witches and vampires existed, who would think that she was one of them. At least here, everybody knew that everybody else was different in some way. Even the humans were different; you didn’t encounter vampires without coming away changed. She tossed a few spikes of white hair out of her face, contemplating the rest of the bar. Then she heard a voice from next to her.
The witch immediately strengthened the walls in her mind, recognizing the being next to her as a vampire. She covered up her witch aura, making her appear little more than a human. She gave a grin, her lips pulling up in a knowing smirk. “Well I guess that tells you somethin’ about me already,” she said, her Southern drawl clear in her tone. She didn’t elaborate, choosing to take another sip of her water. TAG ! Annelise && Open WORD COUNT ! You tell me LYRICS ! That is Why by Say Anything OUTFIT ! Clicky! NOTES ! Still nothing

Annelise could tell that this girl was hiding something, but she didn't really care about whatever it was. It wasn't like she was going to do anything, she just wanted someone to flirt and talk with. The vampiress grinned in response to the girl's quippy reply. "Ah so you're agreeing with me?" She chuckled a little.
Pushing her hair away a bit flirtatiously, Annelise Murdock took another big swig of whatever poison it was she was drinking. It was still so wonderful, she was tempted to start looking for another bottle. Ah well, she'd find something new to drink next time she came. "So, just curious, what are you doing here?" Annelise wanted to know what the girl was hiding, and she wanted to know the old-fashioned way.
Oh yes, she was being old-fashioned, but only in the terms of not scoping someone's mind 0ut. The darkness that swelled in Annelise at times was now buried deep within that she didn't even feel tempted to reach into it. Thus exactly why she wanted to just talk and flirt rather than figure out what this girl was and what she was doing here. Not human, not Vampire, not Shapeshifter... the woman mentally shrugged, not really caring.
((sorry about the cruddy post, I couldn't think of what to say but didn't want to leave you hanging)))
