Dark night loomed overhead. The stars hid away from a midnight blue sky obstructed by the dancing night lights against the air. A chill swept through New York this evening as Silver made an appearance. He was often a celebrity of the Vampire world but as for tonight he hid amongst the crowd keeping sparse guard on hand. They kept their distance flanking into the crowds appearing ordinary. The only thing to noticeably give him away was his own air of arrogance he carried around like a weight on his shoulders.
He floated across the club to a private lounge facing the dance floor. Silver's dark gaze followed the young Vampire's intermixing with humans and others. Their scents all tingling into one massive coagulation if heated mess. The scent of blood loomed above it all tingling his nostrils curiously.
His mouth noticeably tasted the air as a small waitress crossed his path. He leaned her down to have an ear and requested a bit of blood wine. She seemed a bit glazed over after that as Silver's mind crushed hers easily. Such fun toying with the youth. He smirked enjoying his time there.

Not one to be often seen in such places, it was an odd feeling for Annelise when she made her entrance into the club. She was drop-dead gorgeous (quite literally) in her slinky black dress that hugged her immaculate curves. Her hair was worn down and she shook it behind her shoulders when she noticed something that she hadn't expected. A couple guards seemed to be keeping watch over... someone, though Annelise didn't know who quite yet.
With her mind so blocked that, to the guards, she would simply seem like a weak and beautiful Vapmiress, Annelise wandered over to the area blocked off from the rest of the club. The scent was obviously Vampire, but she didn't know who. Since the guards thought she was weak, it wasn't a big deal for her to be over there, as long as the person inside didn't get too angry over her presence. Glancing into the area, she spotted what the fuss was about-- fuss meaning, of course, the dazed girl walking away from the male who seemed to require guards. A smirk played over her lips, but she quickly wiped it away.
"I didn't know you needed guards," she said to Silver, her voice as smooth as silk and just as rich. There was an almost-British accent to her speech, making her voice even more musical. The spark in her black eyes was impossible to miss, though she was almost one-hundred percent sure Silver wouldn't know who she was. With her mind so guarded, and it being many years since she really involved herself in the Vampire world, Annelise had faded into the background.

It was a surprise when the voice came however pleasant it was. He could hear every mind in this room and when one snuck up on him it would have shaken him but he'd never allow for that to show. Instead he replaced the uneasiness with a smooth grin. He turned his head lazily to the beautiful young woman. Eyes meeting tenderly. Silver visionaries captivated his gaze.
"Interesting how you seem to have gotten past them I guess I'll have to have them replaced. Often the most beautiful are the most deadly." Silver laughed with a confident chuckle.
His eager grip overlapped the small glass he'd been handed taking a lavish sip from the glass. His fangs remained retracted carefully to keep a low profile. Such things had killed scores of men and weren't easily forgotten.
"And you are?" He questioned arrogantly tossing his dark gaze across her features trying unsuccessfully to sweep her mind distractions might throw the focus off.

His words were smooth and made her grin mischievously, but didn't let on any more than that. When he said the most beautiful were the most deadly, Annelise shrugged and tossed her hair, her scent stirring the air ever so much. "I'm not much to notice power-wise, so they must have thought I wasn't worth even bothering." It was a lie, but he wouldn't be able to read that. This was already fun for the Vampiress.
Silver asked who she was, and the first name that rose to her lips was the one she used. "Dusty. Dusty Rose, but you can just call me Dusty." Annelise might as well have been a pathological liar among trusting humans, since she knew Silver wouldn't be able to really know otherwise, unless she allowed him to do so. She smiled a little as she spoke and took another step into the private room, her graceful moves not quite as deadly as a vipers, but that was because she didn't want to cause any trouble... yet, at least.
Annelise could feel Silver trying at her mind, but failing. It made her feel powerful, and she flashed another smile, her fangs glinting in the small amount of light. "Got any for a thirsty lady?" She asked, catching a whiff of his bloody drink among the smell of perspiration and hormones. The lights flashing from the club traced her small figure, and her dress accented her waist wonderfully. Annelise knew she was beautiful, and found herself almost enjoying the look Silver gave her, since it was borderline dumbfounded. She purposefully didn't ask him his name.

Silver mused over peacefully, a dark humor about him ever so curiously. She seemed to be toying with him. What fun it would be to play this game. A confident smirk emerged as he summoned the dazed waitress again, this time around she'd beaten him to the order bringing him an additional vial of the life fluid. A graceful hand laced around it carefully tipping the edges.
"Dusty? Certainly not a fine name befitting a lady," Silver chuckled in a low murmur.
His dark eyes traced up her elegant figure. Lights traced across each of them in a sensual disturbance of color.
"It seems as though you have quite some skill of your own don't you..." Silver grinned moving his free hand to his temple tapping the part lightly with his index finger. He could admire such talent and when it came in such a fine package he would do so doubly.

When Silver said her name didn't fit her, Annelise shrugged. "Whether or not it fits, it is my own," she replied in a mattor-of-fact manner, as if she were telling the truth. The darkness in Silver was nearly palpable to Annelise and it was bothering her, though she wasn't letting on. Instead, she strode closer and gratefully took the wineglass of blood from Silver, taking a deep whiff of it before taking a sip; it was deliciously sweet.
As Silver stopped probing her mind for a second, Annelise couldn't help but smirk at his words-- she was sure that he was quite frustrated by not being able to dive into her mind. "Oh that little skill?" Annelise said, waving her hand as if brushing aside her "little skill". "Just something I have learned over the years, nothing too important." Downplaying her ability nearly grated on Annelise's nerves, for she prided herself in that power, but again she didn't let it show.
Seating herself in a nearby chair, the Vampiress crossed her legs, making them look like they were a mile long. She wasn't sure which way to toy with Silver was more fun-- drawing physical attention, or the mental challenge. "Did you expect to read me quite so easily?" She inquired, twirling her glass a little to allow the smell of the blood to waft to her delicate nose. Though she already knew the answer, Annelise wanted to hear Silver admit to it anyway.

"Actually I was quite hoping so." Silver muttered in a low voice eyes shifting towards her legs in the physical display.
It would seem as though both were quite amusing it made him work harder, testing his own focus. He could only use such weak abilities on low leveled fools who were so one dimensional but this woman was hard to break with simple abilities he'd need to work at it. As for the physical prowess he'd have to find an invention to hurtle that problem soon enough.
"So Rose was it?" Silver smiled moving closer to her almost intoxicating the proximity would become. His breath would be traced along her neckline.
"What brings you to my city?" Yes he did call it his, that revealed his identity if she so chose to believe him and it established his dominion.

The pressing Annelise felt in the back of her mind nearly made her laugh; her defenses were built up so strongly that she knew there were only a couple beings who could penetrate it. Instead, she found herself rolling her eyes as Silver called her Rose instead of Dusty. Ah well, she would give him that if he really felt it was any sort of victory.
Silver was so close in proximity that she felt his breath against her neck, but she didn't back away from him. Instead, she blocked out her mind completely, pushing him away. "Don't bother trying, you won't be able to get in," she finally said with a slight scowl, replaced by a victorious smirk. "And yes, it was Rose."
Annelise decided to take another sip before she replied about her being in "his" city. "I have been long away from this place," she stated simply. Really, it had been over fifty years since the last time she'd been in New York, so she figured she could at least take in the sights. She could read simply from the way he'd said that that Silver was confirming to her who he was. Tossing her hair aside, Annelise added, "I knew who you were from the moment I came in, no need to worry. I am not here to take over." Although it would make things interesting... Annelise added to herself darkly.

That made him laugh, though the guards at the entrance flinched hearing the words. Luckily for her Silver was a tad faster already entering their minds and dissuading them from doing anything they'd regret. He chuckled a bit adding a shimmer across the black pupils that were reminiscent of shark eyes.
"So we're acquainted." He smirked again having a bit more fun with this game than he normally would have. If it were to proceed on much longer he would contemplate killing her, things that permitted weakness were necessary in death.
"Is there anything you'd like to say? Aside than 'hello, let me in on your private section and while you're at it a bit of blood wine.'" silver mocked sarcastically running a cold finger against her peach flesh. The cold tips only slightly heated by the blood tingling upon her thigh and slowly across her leg.

Silver's touch did very little for Annelise, for she hated so many of the things he had done in the past, that now it didn't matter how pleasant that touch would have been otherwise. The mocking tone in Silver's voice also ruined the touch, but Annelise kept herself from scowling somehow.
There was something different, though, in the way Silver spoke. His actions were almost expected by Annelise. The darkness she sensed from him increased slightly and, instead of staying, the Vampiress was sure that it was time to go. Standing to her feet, brushing Silver's hand off her in the process, Annelise tossed her hair one last time. "No, I have nothing more to say," she stated, her voice haughty.
"From what I can tell, you don't want to see me again so perhaps this will be the last you shall see of me. But perhaps not." Finishing the drink in her hand, Annelise set down the glass and turned to walk away. Pausing at the doorway, Annelise found herself turning and she said, "Tonight was... interesting." She hadn't expected to say anything more to Silver, but there was something so intriguing about him that she couldn't help herself.
Her mind was still guarded, but there was a softness that came to her eyes for merely a moment before she again reminded herself who he was and who he reminded her of. It was odd, studying his face for one last time, for there were no similarities to the husband she had hated so long ago, but there was a similarity in attitude that removed the softness from her eyes.

Interesting? What had the woman meant by it. Over decades Silver had pondered women in general before eventually coming to the culmination of his understanding. He knew this much, Women didn't know themselves thats what caused them to be such irrational creatures. Even still, he was inclined to pursue. Not like him to give up on a chase. A dark grin appeared on his face knowing the adrenaline he'd end up feeling throughout this one not knowing the twists and turns of her mind frustrated him more but still inclined a bit of challenge.
"No my dear... I believe we'll be seeing each other again," He said in a cocky tone whilst his hand caressed the wine glass drinking down the warm liquid.
"Very soon in fact." A dark grin as his eyes swept over her once more.
Once she'd escape he'd be the one giving chase this time without the guards keeping him back holding back upon his true nature. His eyes fixated on her knowing her skin all too well. His nose adjusted to her scent warm and exotic. He'd felt her now, knowing what she was what willed her. A hunt that excelled his original fancies. Now he hungered for her. The mind he couldn't touch he wanted to feast from her thoughts and make her kneel to him.

This time, Annelise could not help but scowl at the dark feelings she was getting from Silver. It was driving her mind into her own darkness, and that was a place she hated to be. Along with this, his scent shifted to a different kind of desire, rooted in power rather than lust; everything about him in the moment was repulsive.
"I am not a mouse to be hunted. Choose your actions carefully," Annelise stated, her voice so cold and wrathful that she could feel one of the nearby guards shudder. Oh yes, he had tapped into a part of Annelise's heart that was cold, calculated, and cruel-- all for very good reason, though. She had been abused many times over, and she was not about to fall victim to another power-hungry madman. No, she was stronger than she had ever been, and if her coldness was all that would keep Silver at bay, then so be it.
Then again, since he was unable to read her, Annelise knew that he would not be able to chase her easily. This was not the point, though; the point was that he expected a chase which ended in her downfall, but she would not allow that to happen. Whatever he planned, Silver had a lot of work to do if he were to actually make Annelise fall. She didn't even have to dive into his mind to know most of his plans, for she could literally smell it coming off of him.
One last cold look and Annelise strode out of the room, not pausing once. She stepped out into the warm evening air and looked up at the pale moon, reveling in it's warm brush against her skin. This, for Annelise, had always been her favorite time. Even in such moments of anger, the full moon was still able to pull her from her darker thoughts. Along with that, the breeze ushered in the promise of a hot summer, and she was ready for the heat, though perhaps not the sun.
Thoughts of the moon aside, Annelise took a few steps into the alleyway she had exited into and disappeared, her thoughts bringing her to a high-end hotel in the heart of New York City. The luxury of the hotel (and the blood she'd had earlier) were enough to quell her anger, and she lay down to sleep, her mind still racing with thoughts of anger and confusion towards Silver.
