One could say that the nightlife of New Mayhem was a spectacle of grandeur, glory and excitement. To mortal eyes it could be aside from the steadily increasing crime rates missing persons and overall dark aroma it created. For those reasons it made the place home to an exciting bushel of characters.
*tick tock* *Tick Tock*
Rang the clock in the eerie of night. The bell chiming that it was midnight leaving a sound echo in the misty air. A dark figure arose from an ally way merrily musing to himself in the dark. His features were defined and cut as the lights from the street hovered against his face, it’d been awhile since he’d come to a city quite like this. He could smell the rotten disgust of turmoil and fear rising up from the city. Dark very dark, but still there was something to be had from a ruined society in shambles from fear grew great prosper he remembered that much from watching Hitler’s moves in WWII. The fool lost it all in the end however.
Years of knowledge buckled down in his head stinging like a rampant torrent of nonsense all surging up from the base. To top it off when Silver met the street a wave of voices came to stab his head reaching out for someone to hear.
“I wish I hadn’t blown that grand on the races…” “I wonder what she’s wearing under that.” “How am I supposed to get a man to raise my kid?”
The thoughts filtered in painfully, and then there was silence. A glinted smile appeared from the dark, finally all quiet nothing to fear nothing to put up with these humans and their vile brains all out of control and maddening. How could ever being one have made any sense at all? The thought of being on so very long ago was hard to believe. Now Silver controlled his own destiny, his own future.
A dark trench coat covered his body, brown and looking fleshly stretched about fitting firm to his muscular build. Silver walked across the street to the Theatre. What was his purpose? Movies were unbeknownst to such a man, though through a future there had to be new creations.

I recognize that I am damagedI sympathize that you are tooI want to breath without feeling so self-consciousBut it’s hard when the world’s staring at you Kori raged back and forth in her temporary room in Midnight. She had decided to visit her brother, Jaguar, but he had put her in a temper. Rarely anybody else could get under her skin like he did; in fact, she was downright laid back when it came to others. “Immature? What did I do now?” she muttered to herself, her voice practically a growl. She had just wanted to have a race with Jaguar in their cat forms. Okay, so he had been a bit busy. That didn’t mean he needed to snap at her like she was a small child! Ignoring the total hypocrisy of her complaint, Kori left her room with a thought. She reappeared in Ramsa, a place she had been spending more and more time. She loved the city, so close to New York City but far enough away to feel secure. She was in the park, and contemplated changing into a jaguar and going for a run. However, she was already slightly calmer, and right now felt like being surrounded by the sleepy thoughts of New York’s nighttime citizens. Kori trailed one hand along one of the rails that led to a subway, letting it linger for a moment as a stream of people came out. She closed her emerald eyes, allowing a wave of thoughts to wash over her. She tuned out most of them, catching only the barest glimpse of what the mortals were thinking. She caught the eye of one boy, and grinned. Possible future prey. She continued, flipping her hair out of her face as the wind playfully teased it into knots. The theater… Kori’s eyes caught the bright neon sign out of the corner of her eye. She stopped and contemplated it. She hadn’t been in a lot of movie theaters; most of what they showed were more interesting experienced in real life. She started across the street, brushing against somebody in a trench coat. She was about to growl in annoyance when she caught the man’s aura. Her eyes widened; the man’s dark aura brushed across her skin like ice. She recognized auras like that; they were around often in Midnight. “You…” she said softly, pausing in her walking. She hadn’t seen another vampire in a while; most disliked her because she was a shapeshifter too. She wondered at his name; a vampire this strong would surely be ancient, probably much older than her.

“You…” the voice came softly as the nudge against his coat. Silver felt the heated angst within the beast he was long for a kill, the lust within him to tear the weakling’s body to shreds. There were however more practical ways of torturing a poor soul and he certainly was in some need of fun tonight some entertainment. He’d hoped to have caught a human within the theatre and play the game how long before someone notices everyone in the theatre is dead. His beat would be a week down the road though as perusal there was always a distraction.
“Yes…ME” Silver chanted back in a silk velvet voice, he could feel the aura of her being pulsate off of her easily there was little distance between the two and she was young easy enough to read for an elder like him. Shapeshifter too, certainly an interesting weapon to be used or even a game to be played on. Name? Silver, that was his name now, and behold the grandeur of an elder, strong a prowess beyond your mortal life.
The man did enjoy the little things in life tormenting the innocent and had a fair share of games to play. “Mind telling me who you are?” His voice cooed attractively as his hand found a way to her cheek stroking it pleasantly soft making a current between the auras and a velvet mesh.

He was tall, taller even than Kori, his black eyes sparkling with malice. He did seem faintly familiar; had probably visited Midnight at some point, or maybe Jaguar had met with him and had dragged Kori along. However, like all vampires, Kori hated being treated like a weakling. And that was exactly what the vampire was doing. Her odd aura sometimes disguised her power, though in fact most of her strength was derived from her mixed blood. He must have thought she was weak, little better than the humans. True enough, most shapeshifters and plenty of vampires were little better than humans. Kori was not one of them. She had fought for her life, and she fed off of humans. Added to that, she was old, more than 1000 years old. One such as her did not deserve to be treated like a human. Kori hid most of her annoyance, instead looking back up at the vampire. Her eyes darkened to their natural black color, as deep and endless as his. She grinned coyly, allowing her vampire fangs to slide forward. “Kori. And you?” she replied, sidestepping so his hand was no longer on her cheek. She crossed her arms, managing to look faintly bored.

“Kori. And you?” she replied in an apparent hiss as her eyes darkened and fangs revealed. His game was playing perfectly, emotions let out the worst in you revealed weaknesses and strengths the girl had mixed blood giving her bountiful potential and due to their proximity her mind was like an open book to him, his arrogance had been the key to it all a weapon he’d trained for years to unlock what thoughts hid behind those lies that humanity wroth.
“Silver,” His voice was velvet again, like a snake at times though it proved useful when applied correctly.
“So, what graces my presence with such beauty?” he now played the charmer game as he bowed. There were many facets to the man, all of them revolved around the means to power, flattery, arrogance, cynicism everything could come into play to be used as a weapon, even a mixed blood shapeshifter like her.

Kori realized, almost too late, that the vampire would be flipping through her thoughts like a magazine left on the table. She quickly threw up her shields, even those slightly twisted by her shapeshifter blood. She knew Jaguar wasn’t as twisted as this; he seemed able to control his aura with an accuracy that astounded Kori. She lived with it, knowing that, though it marked her as part shapeshifter, it gave her a slight edge in a fight. Hopefully this vampire wouldn’t be able to tear through her walls, though he was strong.
The vampire introduced himself, and Kori knew why he was familiar. Silver’s line was the ruling line here in New York; she had run into a few of his descendants. They were all strong and dark, enough to give even Kori the chills. No wonder she was feeling slightly uneasy; the ruler of the ones she had met had to be a monster. Well, more so than normal.
He bowed to her, and Kori grinned again, baring her fangs. She had never met a vampire who was clumsy; all were urbane and smooth, like a beautiful jeweled snake. Kori was fascinated by almost all vampires, pretty much unaware that she had the same sleek attractiveness she so admired. “The fact that the beauty has nothing better to do,” she replied, her tone honey coated as if to disguise the contempt in her tone. The vampire irked her; she was giving the impression that if she had somebody better to be talking to, she would be. “And what would one such as you being doing in a movie theater?” she asked, actually slightly curious. She had never met a vampire who liked going to the movies; to their sharp eyes and other heightened sense, along with their ability to do anything anywhere, movies were sad imitations of what could really happen.

It was a whole new game another just as simple as the usual hunt the younger vamiress had an easy enough mind to read it was similar to dancing about in dwindling on those of her past. She was a relative of Jaguar. That entertained him slightly more so irked him, he searched deeper trying to find the exact connection and there it was a wall. Mentally he growled as the wall had mysteriously appeared, he hated such obstacles but would deal with it he was an ancient it would only be a matter of time before he could chisel through the barrier, it was just another game.
“The fact that the beauty has nothing better to do,” she replied, her tone honey coated as if to disguise the contempt in her tone.
“And what would one such as you being doing in a movie theater?” He smirked giving off an air on nonchalance, he didn’t care for her small ramblings he only cared for the game to continue, his game on his turf, his rules and they were already in place this was his land this was his everything.
“Care to find out?” He teased her with the smooth taunting voice, “Follow close…” He murmured before disappearing swiftly like a cloud of smoke into the theatre.
The dark lightings did wonders for his vision he could smell, hear, and se every being in the theatre, heart rates were up apparently they had been watching a horror film. Silver mocked in contempt of it, these people had to stimulate their horror of all places here? He laughed bitterly before taking a seat in the back corner using his excelled vision to pick out the heartiest of the prey. Silver for one enjoyed women though they were smaller they had their share of blood, where as the large men were overly emasculated and often had heart problems that didn’t adjust well with his stomach.

I recognize that I am damagedI sympathize that you are tooI want to breath without feeling so self-consciousBut it’s hard when the world’s staring at you Kori cursed herself for being careless. Normally when walking among humans, she let her mental walls down, allowing their thoughts to wash into hers. Who knew how much information Silver had gotten before she managed to block him out? She was determined not to let her guard down again. Kori sidestepped as a crowd of people passed by, several bumping into her. She ignored them, sending a brief thought to them something along the lines of “ scatter!” she was in no mood for humans right now. Those around her quickly dispersed, as if Kori were the source of a plague. Her and Silver were alone, the crowd parting around them like a rock in the path of a river. Before she could comment, Silver disappeared, his last teasing comment hanging in the air. Curious, Kori followed him easily; his aura stood out like a black dot on a white canvas. He slipped into a theater, and Kori followed him. A glance at the screen revealed it to be a horror movie, with lots of fake blood. IT might be surprising that the vampire felt no hunger when watching such things; corn syrup dyed red meant nothing to her. When it was real blood…that was a whole different matter. Kori sent a human out of their seat with her mind and slid into it, next to Silver. They looked, for all the world, like a couple who had come in late to the movie. Kori was silent for a moment, then saw the other vampire scouting for prey. “Hungry?” she drawled, following his line of vision. It fell on a group of teenagers, girls and boys both, clearly out after a party. Kori could smell the alcohol on them; it permeated the air like smoke. She grinned; drunk teenagers were the best prey. The blood itself was intoxicating enough, the alcohol was like the cherry on top.

“Hungry?” Silver was not only keeping up his own walls at this point but playing numerous fronts at once exerting all the power he had trained himself so long to use. He could feel her at a distance and yet she was physically close with her walls up he couldn’t get much but he could read off the emotions she felt the needs, and he could give away just as much but again this was his game to play.
“Hunger is simply a feeling, something needed to be controlled…” Silver whispered quietly feeling the bout of hunger quell within him.
The scent of the teens was the smoke that flamed above the other scents there were others in the theatre as well; a middle aged man out from his home that would’ve been infested with cats, a young mother and her rowdy son who had just been expelled and yet to have told his mother, and another couple off in the corner.
Their thoughts interested him, the man like most was after the goods and was presenting a good show often leaning in as a screen to show he was protecting her from the screen monsters but while the opportunity was there he’d incline himself to graze her once and a while. The woman on the other hand was a skittish brunette fragile yet had a will of steel that much he could read, the girl would be trying to counter his moves and prevent him from clutching too close.
The man, rather than showing disappointment would return with more excess vigor. Silver’s eyes remained fixed on the teens to provide a front a distraction of sorts when his move was ready to be played he’d reveal it in good time. His figure disappeared once more through the dark theatre to appear behind the couple and whisper in the young woman’s ear, “Mi Bella, I suggest you avert this cretin’s hand from your bosom,” Then his head signaled over to the man slowly and with calm attentiveness, “now whelp make your leave.”
In a flash Silver reappeared back next to the young vampire-changeling only to hear the man whisper to her something, “I must leave now…” The man slobbered like a zombie. Silver sat back and bided his time waiting for an essence to approach his meal.

I recognize that I am damagedI sympathize that you are tooI want to breath without feeling so self-consciousBut it’s hard when the world’s staring at you Kori laughed when Silver said that hunger needed to be controlled. How could anybody control that ravaging, burning hunger that seemed to tear through your veins when you hadn’t fed in a while? Though Kori didn’t hate humans, she still needed to feed. That old, oh-so human selfishness that valued her life above others kept her alive. “And how do you propose to control it before it consumes you?” she purred, her tone mocking. The only way to control the hunger was with blood. No “mind over matter” crap could change that.
Kori eyed the party again, picking out a few who could be easy prey. A confident boy, paper covered bottle held loosely in one hand as he lounged over one seat. A shy girl, huddled at the edge of the group, eyes darting over nervously every now and then. The humans fascinated her; she often befriended them and talked for a bit before feeding. If they were interesting enough, she’d let them go and seek prey elsewhere. Most, however, did little to keep the vampire entertained.
She glanced over as Silver disappeared, to whisper to another couple in the theater. She smirked, leaning back in her own seat. “I didn’t think a vampire as ancient as you would amuse himself breaking apart human relationships,” she commented, her voice sounding as if she couldn’t care less. She glanced at the screen; another splatter of fake blood was littered over the set, along with something that could have been a leg. To Kori’s sharp eyes, it was all clearly fake, and managed only to annoy her.

“I didn’t think a vampire as ancient as you would amuse himself breaking apart human relationships,” she sounded mocking, though Silver paid little heed to her words.
“Ah it may seem like that, but a good hunter knows how to split the calf from the herd.” He said with a menacing grin as the woman, pure and fresh with blood sat alone and defenseless, not that the male would prove a fight he just didn’t want to have to share a meal with someone he felt disdain for.
The woman looked about now as if out of some spell than fixated her eyes on the pair of Vampires, their beautiful bodies standing out amongst the rest in the dark theatre. Silver didn’t have to look to know she was coming to him; he didn’t have to know he willed it whispering in her ears to come to his side.
Her mind was open like a child’s book easy for him to read, to fondle without a care. “Jenna, o sweet Jenna, come to me…” He whispered in her thoughts.
The dazed look on her face was one of seduced will, her dilated pupils looked up and down his body ravenously and then shifted over to Kori’s it wasn’t uncommon for a woman to be interested in another and it was expressional more so to a vampire female. “My lord…” her tanned features cried out begging to be used.
He was a merciful master and would have easily enough have taken her their but in the same instant he was not merciful he was cruel and taunting. Silver ran his cool palm up and down the surface of her arm seeking for the strongest pulse and with each repetition she grew more anxious he could feel it emanating off her like a siren or alarm. With great restraint Silver teased on.
